Charity

Many of our Guild members knit items for our charity, Church Street Ministries. They are always in need of hats, mittens, hat/mitten sets, and baby blankets of all sizes.  Also, options for the homeless could include: Wash Cloths, Totes, Hot pads, Scarves, Fingerless gloves

Many basic patterns can be found on http://www.ravelry.com or knittingpatterncentral.com.

July 2015

The Grindstone Knitters Guild is working on a new charity project.  Our goal is to fill this chest with knitted knockers and present them to University Hospitals (UH) Seidman Cancer Center who will offer them free of charge to breast cancer patients.

January 2015

At the 2014 Berea Arts Fest, our Guild gave away balls of yarns to volunteer crocheters and knitters asking them to help us with “Warm up America”.  The volunteers have returned over 100 squares so far!   A group of our Guild members sewed the first of squares together and created our first “Warm up America” afghan.  Thanks to all our volunteers!
